Psalms 119:8

Ps 119:8 I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly. KJV Here is a very interesting verse. What I love about the bible is you can meditate on one verse for a very long time and get so much out of it. This is a very small verse but it has so much meaning. If we just glance over it we can miss the importance of it. If we do not look at it through the covering of Jesus Christ and His Grace we can miss so much. From discussion I have had with other Christians, I …

Psalms 119:7

Ps 119:7I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments.KJV Here we see that David tells us he will praise God with an uprightness of heart. We can not praise God when we are living for ourselves. We can not praise God when we live in a lifestyle of sin, We can not praise God when we are disobeying His commands. Yes we can stand and lift our hands and sing songs and look like we are praising him on the outside, and even deceive ourselves into thinking all is …

Psalms 119 5

PSALMS 119:5 O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes! Here in this verse I hear David’s heart cry. He knows that God has commanded us to keep his commandments. He knows that he has not done this, and his heart is for God to direct him to keep them. He has a love for God’s word and God’s precepts and statutes. We can see this undeniably throughout psalms 119. He longs to keep them for he loves God. When he does not keep them he is grieved deeply (Psalms 51:10). David’s …

Psalms 119:4

PSALMS 119:4 Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently. This verse would seem not to fit in most people’s Christianity today. What we would hear from most people are Satan’s word’s echoing in our thoughts “Yea, hath God said, ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” (Gen 3:1) What I mean by this is that we hear the same whispers but a little differently today, something like “we are not under the law but grace”, and “we do not have to have works because we are saved by grace”. Satan …
